Virtual Play
Virtual games are quite different from in person games. Instead of showing up, making camp, swinging foam, and physically hanging out with people, it’s much less effort, but you won’t be missing out on the action and story. Our Virtual events take place on Discord where we make full use of text and voice chats. You will be rolling dice and narrating your characters’ actions. There’s plenty of spaces to hang out with friends. Modules are scheduled and can be signed up for in advance.
Crafting & Production
You, as a player, have 6 hours of production per Virtual event. This can be split however you’d like between your characters if you have multiple. The skill usages cost the normal amounts of Mind and Resolve. You can only deplete items from your own Virtual inventory or what other people give you. You can decide if each item or resource you make is mailed to you or goes into your Virtual inventory for future usage. While mind restore items exist in the Virtual space, they cannot be used for anything on your production sheet.
Virtual Inventory
Your Virtual Inventory is separate from your physical card inventory. When your character shows up to a Virtual event, they’ve essentially left whatever’s on physical cards at home. Things produced with your pre-game econ sheet can enter your Virtual inventory. Items gained from modules will go into your Virtual inventory as well.
Also anything you produce at an in-person game can be entered in when you visit Public Works instead of receiving a card.
When something enters your Virtual inventory, it stays there unless it’s crafted into something and you choose to receive the physical card. Trading is also not an option.
The Action
During mods, your character will act and react to situations as they arise. Whether that’s with violence or precise craftsmanship or something in between. Rolls are made with your character’s stats so do keep your character sheet handy. Below is a concise chart of what available actions you can take along with their rolls.
The Bot
I made a bot to streamline the rolls during mods. It’s running at all times and all it takes is inviting it via link and giving it a couple extra permissions. It features an intuitive interface and automatic initiative tagging.
Invite the bot to your server.
You may need to grant the bot permission to ‘Manage Nicknames’ as Discord permissions are a mystery and no one understands them.
