Vermillion Moon's Monthly Hunt
What is the Lottery?
As part of the contract signed by The Vermilion Moon for their service, a name will be drawn at random for all individuals present at a given trade. This individual will then be hunted for sport by the members of Vermilion Moon and if captured, they will be consumed at a feast by the gorgers that make up the bulk of the faction.
How does the Hunt Work?
The individual who won the lottery will have until 6pm on the Saturday of trade to prepare for the hunt in any manner they find fit. At 6pm representatives will arrive to take the individual to the ritualistic hunting grounds of that faction, where they will be given a head start before they are hunted down as prey. If the individual manages to survive the night, they will be allowed to live. However, if they are captured or killed they will be used as the main course at the month's feast.
Who is viable for entry?
All individuals including LC’s, SC,s and NPC,s who are present at trade will be eligible targets for the lottery. You are able to opt out, volunteer as the hunt for the month, or find creative ways to satisfy the hunger of the Vermilion Moon.
How long does the hunt take?
Online- A special mod will be run Saturday night for the individual whose name was drawn.
Live- We are going to test a couple different options to find the perfect spot of danger and fun, while not being too much on any one person.
Which months will The Lottery occur?
The hunt will be performed during months in which food is scarce, so from the beginning of fall until the end of winter. However, in times of need it may be held in other months to supplement food requirements.
Can people protect or help me?
Yes, however by doing so they are agreeing to enter the hunt as prey and may be taken in your place if one of them is killed or captured.
What happens in the off months?
The Vermilion Moon will offer training opportunities in order to strengthen the herd, and allow for greater hunts the following year.
